Hans Beimler (* July 2, 1895 in Munich as Johannes Baptist Beimler; † December 1, 1936 outside Madrid)
Communist resistance fighter and concentration camp escapee. In 1933, his book "In the Dachau Murder Camp" was published in Moscow and London. He was a member of the KPD, became known as a Communist Reichstag deputy and as a political commissar of the "Thälmann Battalion" of the XI International Brigade in the Spanish Civil War. There he was shot under as yet unexplained circumstances.
